HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA, STIGMA MASYARAKAT DAN PERAN KADER KESEHATAN JIWA TERHADAP TINGKAT KEKAMBUHAN PADA PASIEN SKIZOFRENIA DI WILAYAH PUSKESMAS KABUPATEN KARAWANG

Abstract

 Schizophrenia is a clinical syndrome or disease process that affects cognitive, perceptual, emotional, behavioral and social functioning. there has been a significant increase in the proportion of mental disorders in Indonesia when compared to the 2013 Riskesdas results, namely an increase of around 5.3% per 1,000 population. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support, community stigma and the role of mental health cadres on the relapse rate of schizophrenic patients. Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder in the form of a complex syndrome that can have a devastating effect on the sufferer and others. The surrounding environment can affect the treatment process for patients with schizophrenia. Relapse can occur due to 5 factors, namely adherence to taking medication, self-concept, family support and environmental support as well as support from health cadres. This study used an analytic descriptive design with a cross sectional approach with a population of 38 and a sample of 35 people. Sampling using the total sampling. The instrument is declared valid and reliable. Collecting data using a questionnaire and statistical analysis using chi square. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between family support, community stigma and the role of mental health cadres with the recurrence rate of schizophrenia patients with p-values of 0.022, 0.022 and 0.015 respectively. In conclusion, there is a relationship between family support, community stigma and the role of mental health cadres with the recurrence rate of schizophrenia patients in the KABUPATEN Health Center Work Area. This research is also expected to be useful for families and communities who are in contact with patients with schizophrenia.
