HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN IBU DAN POLA ASUH DENGAN KEJADIAN TEMPERTANTRUM PADA ANAK PRASEKOLAH DI TK PUSPASARI DESA SILUMAN

Abstract

 Tempertantrum is an emotional outburst that is explosive and uncontrolled and often appears in children aged 4-6 years. Tempertantrum is characterized by crying, screaming and violent or aggressive body movements such as throwing things, rolling on the floor, banging your head and stomping your feet on the floor. The factor that causes the occurrence of tempertantrums is the way parents in raising children play a very important role in causing tempertantrums. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mother's level of knowledge and parenting style with the incidence of tempertantrums in pre-school children at Puspasari Kindergarten, Siluman Village. The research design used in this study is a quantitative method with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples used in this study were 110 respondents, using total sampling technique. This study used the chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the mother's level of knowledge and the incidence of tempertantrums in pre-school children (with a P value of 0.000) and there was a significant relationship between parenting styles and the incidence of tempetantrums in pre-school children (with a P value of 0.008). Parents are expected to be able to use good parenting in accordance with the child's growth and development and be able to model every good behavior to their children, especially when parents are angry and upset with their children.
