HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN PERAWAT DENGAN PERILAKU PENGGUNAAN APD PADA PENANGANAN PASIEN COVID-19 DI RS KHUSUS PARU KARAWANG

Abstract

 Coronavirus (CoV) is a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from mild to severe symptoms. Based on previous MERS and SARS incidents, human-to-human transmission of COVID-19 occurs through droplets, contact and contaminated objects. The implementation of infection prevention and control (PPI) in the COVID-19 pandemic is carried out through 2 precautions, namely standard precautions and isolation precautions. One of the standard precautions that must be taken is the use of PPE. An important factor influencing the behavior of using PPE is knowledge because knowledge is a very important domain for the formation of a person's behavior. This study used a cross sectional approach because the researcher took measurements or research at one time. The population in this study were 72 respondents. For sampling using probability sampling techniques as many as 40 respondents. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the knowledge of nurses about PPE with the behavior of using PPE on COVID-19 subscribers (p value 0.043 <0.05), meaning that the better the knowledge of nurses about PPE, the better the usage behavior.Recommendation: Monitoring and evaluation of the use of PPE so that it can raise awareness about increasing the behavior of using PPE
